EYE is a group of inspired youth from the Bellingen Shire in New South Wales, Australia, who have a passion for our planet. We aim to strengthen the connections between youth and the natural world, while becoming empowered to lead the way to a more environmentally sustainable future.

EYE youth and mentors work together to provide adventurous and enlightening nature camps and leadership training,  run projects and campaigns, and participate in Landcare.

EYE Jobs available!

Bellingen EYE is looking for two dynamic and dedicated people who would like to be part of an exciting project in 2011.  “Food4LYF (Local Youth Futures)” is a 9 month project funded by Communities NSW that will have three components: working with high school aged youth to (1) create a sustainable and productive food garden, (2) design and implement skills-based workshops about food production and food processing, and (3) design and implement a series of Leadership Skills workshops and a Leadership Retreat.

We are looking for a Project Coordinator and an Assistant Project Coordinator, to each work 16 hours/week through September, 2011. This is a contracted position. Experience working with youth …

CAMP – jEYE venture

Junior EYE camp to Mt Hyland nature reserve.
The first ever Junior EYE camp was a great success – full of fun survival skills. We learned awesome knowledge about nature and its gifts.

The first day started with a Welcome to Country by a Gumbaynggirr man, Mark Flanders. He taught amazing aboriginal skills and he showed us the tools his people have been using for ages.
Then we went on a bush walk with Andrew Turbill and Matt Forde – they told us all about tracking animals and their tracks.
