wildEYE Survival Skills Camp 2010
come take a walk on the wild side. reconnect with the earth. meet new friends. learn some skills for surviving in the bush. discover a new appreciation for the world around us.
general information
themes: humans and the ocean. animal tracking. beach bush tucker. sea level rise and climate change. fun (as usual).
date: friday, 19 march – sunday, 21 march, 2010. depart from bellingen swimming pool car park at 3:30 pm friday, arrive back at The Map (on church st) at 6:30 pm sunday.
place: scott’s head christian youth centre. we will be travelling down by bus, and sleeping in dorm rooms.
cost: $130 for the weekend. includes transport, lodging, all meals, tuition, and materials. this cost is so low due to our grant from the Foundation for Young Australians subsidising 35% of the camp. in addition, scholarships are available – cost should not prevent anyone from participating. contact lisa 0423 362 844 for a financial assistance application form (confidentiality assured).
what to bring
sleeping bag or doona
sheet, pillow (bed/mattress supplied)
towel
clothes- bring layers, as temperatures can vary greatly
pajamas
closed shoes/hiking boots – mandatory if you want to go out on bushwalks
sandals/thongs – for around camp only
raincoat/hat/gumboots – activities will continue rain or shine
swimmers and rashi
sun hat
toiletries
torch – with batteries that work
sunscreen/natural insect repellent
musical instrument
journals/art materials
what not to bring
valuables or money – there’s no place to buy anything.
junk food – it’s bad for the environment and we have amazing food at EYE camps.
electronic devices – give ‘em a break for the weekend!

HOW TO REGISTER FOR THIS CAMP:
- Email your name and details to info@bellingeneye.com saying you are registering for wildEYE, or ring 0423 362 844 and leave a clear message with your name and details.
- You will receive confirmation of your registration. If you don’t, email or ring again!
- After you have received confirmation, send in the following form and finalise payment by Wednesday 10 March – or else your place may be given away.
