The EYE-LeG

The EYE-LeG is the EYE Leadership Group. The EYE-LeG has meetings fortnightly, and is responsible for keeping EYE flowing smoothly. Eight EYE members are elected to the LeG at elections which are held every six months. The eight positions are:

  • Meeting Facilitator
  • Internal Communications
  • Public Relations
  • Record Keeper
  • Treasurer
  • Publicity
  • Workgroup Coordinator
  • Heart person

The EYE Administration Staff

There are currently one adult and three youth working for EYE.
The EYE Coordinator works 2 days a week in administration and camp/event coordination.
The Website Maintenance Youth Worker works to maintain bellingeneye.com.
The Newsletter Youth Worker publishes an EYE newsletter each school term.
The Bookkeeper Youth Worker helps with the accounting and camp registration paperwork.

The AdvEYEsory Group

The Bellingen EYE AdvEYEsory Group meets every few months to discuss and give advice on issues such as employment, policies, and finance. This group is made up of representatives from the EYE-LeG and some wonderful adult volunteers from our community – some parents, some environment group representatives, and other “people who care”.

EYE Meetings

Bellingen EYE meets monthly, on the first Tuesday of every month, from 5:00-7:00 upstairs at the Bellingen Environment Centre (on Church Street Lane, Bellingen). All EYE members and newcomers are welcome – this is the opportunity to hear what is going on in all of the current EYE workgroups and projects, and also to get involved in future projects.

EYE Camps

See our Camps pages for details

FrEYEday Nights

A FrEYEday night event is held a few weeks after each camp, so that camp participants can see each other again. It also allows new people to come to EYE if they couldn’t make it to the camp. These social events will usually have some sort of environmental theme – such as a film night or a games night. These events are strictly drug and alcohol free.

Landcare Working Bees

Bellingen EYE is very excited to be working with Bellingen Urban Landcare this year in its working bees. They are held the fourth Sunday of every month, from 9:00 am to 12:00. EYE members can bring new friends, and even family – this is a great way to learn bush regeneration skills while making Bellingen a more beautiful place. Watch the calendar page for the site of the next Working Bee, as they change every month.
