EYE is a group of inspired youth from the Bellingen Shire in New South Wales, Australia, who have a passion for our planet. We aim to strengthen the connections between youth and the natural world, while becoming empowered to lead the way to a more environmentally sustainable future.
EYE youth and mentors work together to provide adventurous and enlightening nature camps and leadershiptraining, run projects and campaigns, and participate in Landcare.
EYE is visioning up an amazing future. Please join us!
Upcoming Events
Tues- Fri, 24-27 January 2012. EYE Leadership Retreat – “Metamorphosis”. At Chrysalis School, Thora. A hands-on, experiential camp where we develop personal skills through earth crafts such as shelter-building and fire-making. This is for all types of leaders, not just the conventional ones – the main requirement is that you love our planet and want to learn more about how we co-exist with her! New and old EYEs are welcome, from Years 10 and up (a few places will be offered to keen Year 9s). Rego opens 2 January. Email info@bellingeneye.com or phone/text 0423 362 844 for a rego packet.
We wish you a happy, relaxing, loving, and peaceful time celebrating whatever it is you love to celebrate.
It seems a bit unreal…. but the original EYE experiment is over as of 31 December…. and we are now moving into uncharted territory. We hope to see many EYEs at our Visioning overnight 6-7 January, and then even more of you at our 2012 EYE Leadership Retreat- “Metamorphosis”, which will be held at the lovely Chrysalis School river campus in Thora. (Rego opens 2 January – watch this space for more details!)
In the meantime, have fun and be safe, and see you in 2012!!
Our fourth annual EYEball will be held on Saturday, 22 October at the Bellingen Memorial Hall. It will be a fantastic night filled with inspiring entertainment, celebrating youth and the planet. It is a family friendly and “all-ages” event, with amazing performances including original acoustic music, dance, and other surprises from talented EYE members and friends. This will be followed by local dance band “Five Dollar Billie” and a set by young DJs “Thing One and Thing Two”. Delicious food and drinks will be available for purchase. The doors open at 6:30 for a 7:00 start, with entry being $8 for under 18s and $12 for over 18s. See you …
The weather is definitely heating up, so our attention has turned to nice, shady, inspirational spaces for both people and plants through the summer.
We have been designing shade-houses, frog ponds and seating circles. Most garden bed areas are nearing completion, so next term, as things heat-up, the only way is up, baby!
